HDSRM delivers a simplified system design and reduced manufacturing costs without the use of permanent magnets. HDSRM has the flexibility to operate beyond a motor traction machine as a solution that can meet multiple, wider challenges such as use in regenerative braking systems and trailer solutions.

As permanent magnets are no longer required, system level improvements deliver real world benefits. When HDSRM is not being driven, it acts as a freely rotating mass that doesn’t generate current or torque.

Our multi-motor design allows motors to be switched on or off depending on load, enabling the system to operate at peak efficiency across a much broader part of the vehicle drive cycle.
